Welcome to Old House Hotel
Your West Coast "Home Away from Home," the Old House Hotel is an all-suite boutique hotel comprised of two buildings: Cedar (where you are now) and Maple, both set along the Courtenay River. We're only a few blocks from downtown Courtenay, and within a short drive, you’ll find the Comox International Airport, beaches, hiking, golfing, and Mount Washington Resort which features amazing winter and summer activities and countless other adventures. Quietly nestled between the Beaufort Mountain Range and the Strait of Georgia on Vancouver Island’s east coast, the Comox (translated: Land of Plenty) Valley offers truly magnificent scenery at every turn – glacier views, old-growth forest, sandy beaches, pristine rivers, and cascading waterfalls. It encompasses the communities of Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Royston, Union Bay, Black Creek, and Merville. The city of Courtenay is centrally located in the Comox Valley, on the east coast of Vancouver Island, and provides easy access to all travelers by car, coach, air, sea, and train. By car, it is only three hours north of Victoria, one hour north of Nanaimo or 45 minutes south of Campbell River, and as little as 30 minutes from Vancouver by float plane.We live and work on unceded territories, specifically the traditional territory of the K’omoks peoples. The people called K’omoks today referred to themselves as Sahtloot, Sasltla, Leeksun, Puntledge, Cha’chae, and Tat’poos.

One Bedroom Suite
Your home away from home, the hotel’s One-Bedroom Suites are beautifully appointed and luxurious. These suites feature a separate living room with queen-size sofa bed, fireplace and flat screen television and a balcony or patio with garden or riverside views. A fully-equipped gourmet kitchen features full-size modern appliances, dining room table for four. One-Bedroom Suites in our Maple Building even feature a laundry closet with in-suite washer and dryer. Often referred to as the “honeymoon” or “hospitality” suite, this two-level hotel suite has everything. On the main floor a gourmet kitchen, entertainment bar, dining room table for six, fireplace, large flat-screen television, queen-size sofa bed, two-piece bathroom, washer & dryer, and a full walk-out deck with garden and fountain view. Upstairs, the loft bedroom provides a relaxing oasis with a King Bed, fireplace, flat-screen television, two-person jetted tub and a spacious bathroom with his-and-her sinks and a double multi-headed shower. 800 sq. ft. A Lovely Building Isn't It?
This lovely cedar-inspired building used to house the original "Old House Restaurant," an Island tradition for many. The Old House is valued as an eclectic example of Arts and Crafts architecture in Courtenay during the city’s first post-war expansion. Constructed in 1938 as a residence for the Kirk family, the house features locally-produced wood construction with masonry detailing. The beautiful carving reminds us that we live and work on unceded territories, specifically the traditional territory of the K’omoks peoples.
